A hospice balanced scorecard is a tool that managers can use to track the execution of activities towards established goals. This possible list of metrics should help you think in the right direction and demonstrate how operational measures may help drive results. Making a scorecard available to all within the organization brings accountability and visibility to the organizational goals, strengths, and weaknesses. The word “balance” is essential as hospice organizations must find the proper equilibrium amongst financial goals, census goals, clinical operations, referral sources, patient and family satisfaction, and team engagement.
